TypoGraphic Writing
Collected writings from TypoGraphic were published by the Society as a book, TypoGraphic Writing, in 2001. Edited by David Jury, this book demonstrates how the Society's journal has recorded developments in typography over a thirty year period. The relevance of TypoGraphic Writing is neatly encapsulated by Wim Crouwel in his introduction.
'Since the first issue of TypoGraphic was published, graphic design and typography have gone through a period of fundamental change, exploring new directions and causing more confusion than ever before... Regardless of what comes next, it is of the greatest importance to learn from the experiences of the past. What is written about our discipline today is research material tomorrow.'

26 Letters: Illuminating the Alphabet
Edited by Freda Sack, John Simmons and Tim Rich
In 2004, the International Society of Typographic Designers and the writing group 26 joined forces to explore the DNA of language. Twenty-six business writers were randomly paired with twenty-six graphic designers, given one letter each and asked to create a collaborative work that celebrated, explored, questioned, elucidated or subverted that letter. In a series of diary pieces, the pairs wrote about the excitement and frustration, the research and the concepts, the relationships and the techniques that led to the finished works.

Entries are welcome worldwide, from designers who have used type as a major integrated aspect of their design solution.
This full colour catalogue presents the winners and many other outstanding and significant entries.
